Schools granted $2.5 million for simulations, gaming

Fort Leavenworth, Kan. - Teachers and staff at Fort Leavenworth want to plug students into what their lives might be like in the future.
With a $2.5 million grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity's Educational Partnership, Unified School District 207 is overhauling its classrooms to use student-directed learning and technology simulations similar to what their parents are using to learn in the Army.
The grant, spread over three years, will support a new Cyber-TEAMS learning strategy - that is, Technology, English, Arts, Math and Science education.
