Students explore science-related careers through DoDEA grant
EPISD received four cycles of Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Grants. These 21st Century Science Classroom grants all have commonalities.
One of the goals of these grants is to increase students' awareness of science related careers through field trips. These field trips are very structured to engage the students not only in science concepts, but also to become more aware of science careers.

DOD funds five news science labs in Okaloosa

BLUEWATER BAY — Experience has become the teacher for students at Bluewater Elementary School. Since the beginning of the week, students in third, fourth and fifth grades have been performing experiments in the school's new science lab.
The lab was funded through a three-year grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity. The grant is designed to help students at schools with high military populations get excited about science, technology, engineering and math through self-directed experiments.
