International Visitor Spending Data Revised: 1999-2010

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) recently released annual revisions of the U.S. international transactions accounts (ITAs). Through annual revisions, BEA introduces new definitions and classifications, newly available and more complete source data, improved methodologies, and new and updated presentations. Taken together, these changes improve the reliability and consistency of the statistics and address important new developments in the U.S. and international economies.

Despite several relatively large changes to other accounts, this annual revision has not significantly altered the overall picture of U.S. international transactions for the past several years and has only impacted the travel and tourism-related data ever-so-slightly.

As a result, the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries recently revised the follow reports/data:
