Observing System Products

The primary output of the Ocean Climate Observing System is data. The datasets produced by the thousands of instruments deployed in the ocean are calibrated, archived, and freely available to all interested parties. These datasets are heavily utilized, often as inputs to sophisticated models, by research scientists, climatologists, forecasters and others.

In addition to providing raw data, the Ocean Climate Observing System also supports development of a select set of ocean analysis products, which provide more readily accessible information to diverse audiences and communities on the state of the ocean and the state of the climate system.

Descriptions of many of these products may be found at the web links provided here.
