Welcome to Travis AFB

Team Travis...America's First Choice!

Congratulations on your assignment to Travis Air Force Base!  We stand ready to assist during your transition.

Travis AFB is home to a world-class global mobility team and 52 partner organizations.  Our host, the 60th Air Mobility Wing, is the largest of nineteen wing's in Air Mobility Command and includes David Grant Medical Center, the second largest medical facility in the Air Force.  The 7,000-person strong 60 AMW teams daily with the 3,500-person strong 349th Air Mobility Wing to fly, maintain, and support three major weapon systems--the C-5 Galaxy, the KC-10 Extender, and the C-17 Globemaster III.

Travis AFB is also home to the 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force and the 615th Contingency Response Wing.  Uniquely organized, trained, and equiped for rapid global mobility, the 15 EMTF, 615 CRW, 349 AMW, and 60 AMW combine to project air power across the spectrum of conflict around the world. Additionally, Travis AFB is home to over 50 partner organizations to include Army, Navy, and Marine Corps units.

Travis AFB is a great place to live and work.  Located 50 miles from San Francisco, 40 miles from Sacramento, and 135 miles from Lake Tahoe, there is an abundance of year-around activities both on- and off-base.  Finally, the local community support may be the best in the Nation.
