Senator Boxer: New Recreation Trails on the LA River and along Aliso Creek

Residents of Los Angeles and Orange Counties will soon have new ways to connect with the great outdoors. This week the U.S. Department of the Interior announced the designation of two new National Recreation Trails – one along the Los Angeles River and the other along Aliso Creek, near Laguna Beach. Hooray for designating the 7-mile stretch (Griffith Park to downtown) of the L.A. River trail as a National Recreation Trail. I skated on it just this morning. Recently, I completed a project to ride my bicycle on 40 different routes for 40 (consecutive) days and cycled on both the L.A. River Trail and the Aliso Canyon Trail as part of my 1,099-mile cycling journey. These outdoor recreation opportunities are SO important. Thank you for supporting them.

In response to the new recreation trails in LA and OC, what a waste of our tax dollars at I time when we are so laden with debt in this country. Good Grief!
