Journalist Visas

Journalists who have to go on a business trip for their TV or radio station, newspaper or magazine as well as television crews need to apply for a journalist visa (I visa).

Required documents to be submitted by all I-visa applicants:

  • a valid passport with at least two blank pages
  • the confirmation page of your visa application form: click here for details on the visa application procedure.  
  • one recent, full-face photo with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. Size : 5 cm by 5 cm. This is larger than the standard Belgian passport photo size!  Please note that your visa application will not be accepted for processing if the photo dimensions are not correct.   • an original receipt of payment (bank extract)  per applicant.  Click here for more details.

    Important
    : your receipt of payment must show that your bank account has efffectively been debited with the appropriate amount.
  • a credential issued by a professional journalistic association.
  • a letter from the employer detailing your mission in the United States.

  • The "media (I)" visa is a nonimmigrant visa for persons desiring to enter the United States temporarily who are representatives of the foreign media traveling to the United States, engaging in their profession, having a the home office in a foreign country.
