Recent Bombing In Swaziland

In light of the Saturday, September 20 bombing at the Lozitha Bridge on the MR3, the U.S. Embassy would like to remind American citizens who are resident in Swaziland to maintain a high level of vigilance and to take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness. While we have no information about specific threats against American businesses, personnel, or citizens in Swaziland , this message should serve as a reminder that terrorist incidents could inadvertently affect American citizens.

Americans should maintain a low profile, vary routes and times for all required travel, and treat mail and packages from unfamiliar sources with suspicion. In addition, American citizens are also urged to avoid contact with any suspicious, unfamiliar objects, and to report the presence of such objects to local authorities. Vehicles should not be left unattended, if at all possible, and should be kept locked at all times. U.S. Government personnel in Swaziland have been advised to take the same precautions.
