Sergeant Major Crosby is a native of Lowndes County, AL. He entered the United States Army Reserves in June of 1986 as a Food Service Specialist and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC. In November of 1989, he converted to Active Duty and completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX as a Combat Medical Specialist.
SGM Crosby’s assignments include Line Medic, 43rd Combat Engineers, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Bliss, TX; NCOIC, Ambulatory Services, Fox Army Community Hospital, Redstone Arsenal, AL; Battalion Aid Station NCOIC/Platoon Sergeant, HHC 5/5 Air Defense Artillery, Camp Stanley, Korea; NCOIC, Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security, Lyster Army Community Hospital, Fort Rucker, AL; Recruiter/Station Commander, U.S. Army Recruiting Station, Paducah, KY; NCOIC, Department of Primary Care, DeWitt Army Community Hospital, Fort Belvoir, VA; Senior Medical NCO, Andrew Rader Health Clinic, Fort Myers, VA.; First Sergeant, C CO, 168th Area Support Medical Battalion, Camp Humphreys, Korea; Operations NCO, 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC; Operations SGM, Warrior Transition Brigade, Fort Hood, TX. SGM Crosby has deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1990-91 and in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007-08.
SGM Crosby’s military and civilian education includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy - Class 60. SGM Crosby has also completed the Army Instructor Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, U.S. Army Recruiter Course, and the Equal Opportunity Leader Course. SGM Crosby holds an Associates of Sciences Degree in General Studies from Enterprise State Community College.
SGM Crosby’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (4th Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Medal (with one Bronze Service Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (with two Bronze Service Stars), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 2), Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Kuwait), and the Gold Recruiter Badge (With Two Sapphire Stars). SGM Crosby is also a member of the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit.
