Strike up the Band!

The Southern University Marching Band performed for the first time in Algeria from February 1-4 in a cooperative program between Embassy and the Algerian Ministry of Youth & Sports. The band is from the state of Louisiana and is one of the best university marching bands in the U.S. They performed on February 1 at the Muslim Scouts camp in Sidi Fredj, February 2 at the FOREM center for psychological treatment in Bentalha, and at the Salle Omnisports of Tiaret on February 3. Sports fans also had the chance to appreciate the drum corps during two basketball games between two local teams at Salle Omnisports of Staoueli on February 4.
