First Nations Dance Company back in Algeria

Following their first visit to Algeria in 2009, the First Nations Dance Company is back. The company took part in the 4th edition of the Festival of Desert People in Timmimoun last year and will perform in Algiers and Tamenrasset this time.  On Monday March 14, the FNDC will perform at the Boy Scouts camp in Sidi Fredj (Algiers) at 15:30, and on March 15 will perform at “Salle Ibn Zeydoun” (Algiers) at 18:30. The company will travel to Tamenrasset where they will perform at l’Esplanade on March 17 at 19:00.  On Friday March 18, the First Nation Dance Company will perform at the Muslim Boy Scouts of Tamanrasset at 16:30.  First Nations Dance Company (FNDC) was founded in 1991 by owner and director Richard Donaghey and is based in Fort Defiance, Arizona, on the Navajo Indian Reservation.  FNDC performs traditional Native American music and dances, including Native American flute music.  The company consists of champion pow-wow dancers who compete at pow-wows throughout the United States and Canada. The performers come from a variety of Native tribal nations.  First Nations Dance Company has toured and performed in a variety of European countries and is one of the premier professional Native American dance companies in the world.
