Notarial Services

 Notarial services are provided by online appointment, on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 pmClick here to schedule your appointment.

Notarial services are provided for U.S. citizens and for individuals of any nationality requiring notarization of documents to be used in the United States, the most common requests include notarizing powers of attorney and affidavits. A consular officer is available to process notarials during normal ACS hours: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday.

The Embassy cannot certify or authenticate state documents such as birth certificates, drivers' licenses, or divorce decrees. Nor can the Embassy provide or certify official translations of documents.

What you'll need to bring with you

For us to notarize your documents, you must:

  • Have government-issued photo ID. A valid passport is best.
  • You must understand your document, as we are not allowed to explain the contents to you.
  • You must have filled in the document with the appropriate names, places and dates (but don't sign it; you'll sign it at the Embassy in front of a consular officer).
  • You must pay the fee, in US dollars or the Algerian dinar equivalent (see below).
  • If your document requires witnesses in addition to the notary, you must supply these witnesses. Our staff cannot serve as witnesses. 

Fees   50$ or 4250 Algerian Dinars

  • We accept U.S. dollars and Algerian Dinars for payment of these fees.  We regret that we cannot accept personal or cashiers' checks or credit or debit cards at this time.
