Visting Patients

Patient Visits:

  1. There are no set patient visiting hours.
  2. If you wish to visit a patient, please follow the following steps;
    1. Contact the SAMMC Information desk at (210) 916-4141.
    2. Be prepared to provide the patient’s name.
    3. Confirm whether or not the patient is in the hospital, and if so, what ward the patient is located in. Patient information can only be released if the patient or their next of kin have signed a release of information form.
    4. Ask for the direct phone number to the Ward Nurses’ Station.
    5. Call the Nurses’ Station and ask about the following:
      1. Can the patient be visited?
      2. What time would be best to visit?
      3. What are the restrictions? Can children visit? Can we bring food?

  4. You will be entering a Government installation, please be prepared to show a picture ID card at the gate. Also ensure that your vehicle has a valid and current registration. You will not be allowed to enter if your car is not registered. Taxicabs are allowed entry.
  5. If you wish to send gifts, send them to:

    Note: Please make sure you clear the gifts with the nurses first before sending.
