    October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and all members of are encouraged to participate. The purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities.

    Mark L. Asquino was confirmed on June 29 by the US Senate as Ambassador to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. The confirmation was attested on July 5 by President Barack Obama. Ambassador Asquino arrived in Equatorial Guinea in September and is expected to present his credentials in the near future.

    The Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is deeply concerned by the verdict against Dr. Wenceslao Mansogo. We reiterate that Equatorial Guinea must abide by its international human rights obligations and its own constitution, including articles 9 and 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Equatorial Guinea is a state party, and article 13 of the Constitution of Equatorial Guinea. We urge the Government of Equatorial to take appropriate action to ensure that Dr Mansogo's rights are respected.

  • ICRC Signs Agreement with Equatorial Guinea

    The Embassy of the United States of America in Malabo warmly welcomes the news of the signing of a headquarters agreement between the Government of Equatorial Guinea and the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) on January 25, 2011. Such an agreement, if implemented effectively, could improve prison conditions. We urge the Government of Equatorial Guinea to take full and early advantage of this agreement to make continued improvements in the country’s penal system and respect for human rights.  Spanish »
