Independence Day Celebration 2011

Ambassador William Eacho welcomes the guests.

The U.S. Embassy Vienna invited Austrian officials, diplomats, journalists, businessmen and private citizens to the 235th Independence Day celebration. The party was hosted by Ambassador William C. Eacho III and his wife, Mrs. Donna Eacho.

In his remarks, the Ambassador pointed at the tradition of camaraderie and the get together of family and friends, celebrating the liberty that the forefathers had fought for. Following his remarks members of the U.S. Marine Corps presented the colors.

The Check Six jazz ensemble of the U.S. Air Force in Europe Band played hot music to make up for the rather low temperature and the many food stands gave the guests a great variety of choices. The evening lasted long past the traditional fire work ending.
