Defense Attaché Office (DAO)
 

The United States Defense Attaché Office (DAO) performs representational functions on behalf of the Secretary of Defense, the Secretaries of the Military Services, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Chiefs of the U.S. Military Services and the Commander of European Command. The Defense Attaché at the American Embassy, London, is BRIG GEN John T. Quintas, USAF.

These pages are intended to answer general inquiries regarding the tracing of former and current United States military personnel and enlistment in the United States Armed Forces, and are intended for those making such inquiries from the United Kingdom. While every effort has been made to ensure that the information is current, DAO London accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies which may occur.

The DAO also processes requests for U.S. Air Force (USAF) support of Air Show events.

U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Command warns of Scams

We regularly receive enquiries from people who have established an online relationship with someone who is purportedly a member of the U.S. Armed Forces and they have been asked to send this service member money. In every situation presented to DAO so far, this has turned out to be an internet fraud.
