Residential Leasing Needs

The U.S. Embassy leases more than 80 high-quality residental properties within the ACT and seeks to partner with responsive owners/landlords to meet the exacting safety, security, presentation, and living requirements of our assigned diplomatic personnel. Should you wish to be informed of our periodic leasing needs or if you have specific properties that might be suitable, we encourage you to let us know by sending an email to CanberraUSGHL@state.gov. The U.S. Embassy Canberra housing section provides expert tenant and lessee services and works with property managers and owners to facilitate professional, mutually beneficial relationships.

Sealed Bid Sale

The Embassy periodically holds sealed bid sales to liquidate a variety of property.  Historically, items such as household furniture, electrical goods, computers, laptops, LCD monitors, ladders, gardening equipment, outdoor furniture, office furniture, motor vehicles, power tools, and fitness equipment have been offered for sale.  Interested bidders are encouraged to review the current catalogue for specific items to be sold.

The American Embassy next sealed bid sale will be held on October 10th, 2012. Viewing and bidding will be on sale day from 10am till 2pm. Pickups for winning bidders will be on Thursday and Friday October 11th and 12th from 12 midday till 6pm. Terms are Cash or Bank Cheque only. Catalogue will be available week prior to sale.
