Ambassador's Statement
Several American companies continue to express interest in doing business in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), despite the fact that the DRC has one of the most difficult investment climates in the world, because of its rich endowment of natural resources, large population size and strategic location in Central Africa. Some of the largest foreign direct investments in the DRC are American companies. U.S. exports to the DRC in 2010 have been estimated at $93 million, a 17.33 percent increase from the previous year.
Promotion and protection of U.S. businesses remains one of our Embassy’s top priorities. The U.S. Embassy’s Commercial and Economic Section stands ready to assist by providing commercial advocacy, Gold Key Services, International Partner Searches, other U.S. Commercial Services and general information about the economy and doing business in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
