Manuscript Collections

Special Collections houses over 400 manuscript and archival collections containing materials from the 19th through the 21st centuries. Manuscript collections held by Special Collections include papers of individuals who worked for or were associated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) or who were involved in agricultural activities. Special Collections also houses a variety of records of organizations related to agriculture.

The collections contain materials such as correspondence, field notes, journals, photographs, publications, and other items related to the specific individual's or organization's work. These collections are organized and described in finding aids. Finding aids provide researchers with a history of the individual or organization and the content of the collection. For more information about any manuscript collection, please email Special Collections
