Dance always and everywhere!

Having conquered the hearts of onlookers in the Chelyabinsk railway station last year, this year the International Summer Dance Lab held an impromptu dance revolution in the Rodnik shopping mall.  The Lab, which received funding from the U.S. Consulate for the second year in a row, included well-known American teacher and choreographer, Gabriel Francisco.  For ten days, Gabriel--and other international instructors--shared contemporary dance techniques with young Russian dancers from across Russia.  In addition to the flash mob, the students hosted a final gala performance on August 9th, which showcased Gabriel's hip hop routine and other modern dance styles.  At the conclusion, Gabriel Francisco praised the dancers’ qualifications, the professionalism of the teachers, and the overall organization of the Lab.  Special credit goes to MM Art Line Agency, Maneken Theater and Students Theaters Association of Russia, as well as the Chelyabinsk Regional Ministry of Culture, the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts, and South Urals State University.
