On April 26, Consul General Mike Reinert and the Radford University Choir, directed by David O. Castonguay, participated in the opening ceremony of the International Festival of Academic Choirs “Faces of Friends.”

The festival is part of the larger art forum “Vesna UPI” held annually at the Urals Federal University.  The Radford University Chamber Choir “Madrigal Singers” consists of 24 singers and performs both a cappella and chamber music.  The students from Radford will compete against 24 other choirs, mostly from the Urals and Western Siberia.  When not singing in the competition, the Radford students will perform at other local venues and spend time getting to know their Russian host city.
