Life in Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, NC  

The Fayetteville, North Carolina is an incredibly patriotic town that honors its history, celebrates its present and plans for its future. As the home of Fort Bragg, the town has a long standing military presence. This heritage is celebrated from the Civil War to the present day. True to its North Carolina roots, Fayetteville is a town full of hospitality and southern charm. With this unique mix, the town was one of ten in the United States to be awarded an "All-American City Award" from the National Civic League.

The downtown area of Fayetteville is a charming sight and a great place for a leisurely stroll. With impeccably maintained buildings and colorful landscaping, this is a beautiful central gathering spot for a casual afternoon or a well planned festival. This downtown area recently added the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, which has become the Number One Most Visited Attraction in the entire state.

The town is also home to a number of post-secondary educational opportunities. Fayetteville State University, Methodist College, and Fayetteville Technical Community College all offer students the opportunity to begin or continue their educations.

In their free time, residents here enjoy spending time on the Cape Fear River, the local Botanical Gardens, and at the numerous museums and festivals throughout the town. The Cumberland County Fair in September draws thousands of folks throughout the region. The arts and literature feature prominently in Fayetteville's year round activities. Local libraries organize multi-generational readings and book discussion groups. The Fayetteville Museum of Art presents its "Fayetteville After Five" program. This is a relaxing event for folks to gather at the museum for a program of art, music, food and fun.

Fayetteville offers its residents the opportunity to live in a place with a rich history and sense of hospitality. Unique programs offered by local government have resulted in a strong economy with an incredibly affordable cost of living.
