Student Orientation

Welcome to Fort Bragg and Womack Army Medical Center’s Department of Family Medicine. Our goal is to provide you with an excellent “hands-on” experience in a primary care setting. We would like to expose you to the essence of Family Medicine. As this is the home of the 82nd Airborne Division, you also will be exposed to Military Medicine and Operational Medicine at its finest. Your experience here will be second to none.

The schedule will involve seeing clinic patients from Monday thru Friday from 0800 to 1630. Some student will also rotate to one of the outlying clinics on Fort Bragg.  Medical students will have the opportunity to take call with a Senior Resident or Staff on Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics. The template schedule is outlined below. Morning report, Noon Conference Lecture and Pre-Clinic Conference will be conducted in the clinic conference room and all are expected to attend.

  • All Medical Students rotating through Fort Bragg will go through our FM Medical Student Coordinator.
  • You will be assigned a Staff or Senior Resident to work with during each clinic.
  • Feedback is an important part of learning, growing and improving out program.  Let us know how to better assist your learning style and individual needs.
  • www.aafp.org* is the website to learn about relevant clinical topics.  Check it out.
