The consular representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv attended Education Abroad Fair

On November 16, 2012, the consular representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv attended Education Abroad Fair, the biggest educational fair in Ukraine.  It is held twice a year in Ukrainian House, and gathers under one roof the representatives of more than 60 educational institutions from all over the world.

Foreign educational institutions were represented by Canada, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Austria, USA, Cyprus, Russia, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Israel, Great Britain, Switzerland, Thailand, and Turkey.  All booths were well-organized; university representatives and recruiting agencies were very friendly and forthcoming.  The representatives eagerly provided every interested person with objective firsthand information about education systems of their country, educational programs, enrolment conditions and financial requirements.

The majority of foreign universities were from Canada and Poland.  Almost all universities are using the help of local agencies to recruit students.  Polish universities attract Ukrainians with reasonable prices and close location to the home country.  Canadian universities are more expensive for Ukrainian students, but provide a wide variety of language courses.

There were no concrete U.S. universities presented at the fair.  Local agencies advertised American universities depending on the needs and interests of students.

Next fair will take place on April 11-13, 2013.  More detailed information about the fair can be found on the official website: http://edu-abroad.com.ua/
