Transition Center

Mission:

The Transition Office is located in the Personnel Transition Assistance Center (PTAC), Bldg 40, Conn Barracks. This office provides for transition assistance to Soldiers departing the Military upon completion of required active duty service.

All Soldiers who intend to separate from the US Army are required to attend a transition briefing 1-2 years prior to release from active duty. 1 Year for Soldiers separating from the US Army and 2 Years for Retiring Soldiers. This briefing explains the benefits available to Soldiers who qualify upon completion of active duty.

PRE-TRANSITION BRIEFING SCHEDULE

The Pre-Separation Briefing offers the opportunity to receive important information concerning transition from active duty from agencies such as the Transition Center, MPD, Transportation, Separation Finance, ACS, ACAP, Customs, Tricare, Education Center and the Central Processing Facility.

PRE-RETIREMENT BRIEFING SCHEDULE

Soldiers and their families need to plan their military retirement long before the application for retirement is submitted. Not to have a planned retirement in many cases results in a less than happy retirement or cases of making mistakes. At least once prior to retirement a Soldier and family members should attend a Pre-Retirement briefing. The information provided is designed to help you prepare for retirement and receive important information from agencies such as the Transition Center, Transportation, Separation Finance, MPD, Housing, Customs, ACAP, Education Center and the Central Processing Facility.

Pre-retirement Briefings are conducted 0900 – 1500 at the PTAC, Building 40, class Room #1, Conn Barracks.
