Public Affairs Section

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) conducts educational and cultural exchanges, manages press and information activities, and administers the Embassy website. 

PAS facilitates US government exchange programs such as the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, Fulbright Science and Technology Award, Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistantship, Humphrey Fellowship, and Global Undergraduate Program.  Also arranges short-term professional visits to the U.S. in selected fields through the International Visitor Leadership Program and the Study of the United States Institutes.

PAS supports a public Information Resource Center (IRC), research and reference service for researchers, journalists, Mongolian Government officials and anybody with a professional interest in the United States. Sponsors two American Information and Cultural Centers located at the City Library Ulaanbaatar and Public Library in Khovd Aimag. These libraries are free and open to the public. Educational resources help individuals expand their skills and understand American values.

Also administers a variety of grants including the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, The Women’s Issues Fund, Small Democracy Fund and a small grants program.

In addition, PAS hosts a number of English Teaching programs such as workshops and conferences, the English Language Fellow Program, and Access Microscholarship.
