Consul General Katherine Dhanani

Katherine Dhanani has been a Foreign Service Officer since 1990. Most recently she was the Deputy Chief of Mission in the U.S. Embassy in Harare.

 

Her previous posts include: Georgetown, Guyana, where she served as Economic Officer; Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, where she was the Embassy’s Consular Officer; Mexico City, Mexico, where she followed energy and mining issues in the Economic Section; Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo where she headed the Economic Section; Lusaka, Zambia where she served as Chief of the Political and Economic Section; and Libreville, Gabon where she was the Deputy Chief of Mission.   

 

Ms. Dhanani trained as an Economist at Kenyon College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and taught economics at Grinnell College before joining the Foreign Service.  She speaks French and Spanish.
