Community Mayors

Community Mayors are elected by residents of each community to serve a one-year term from January through December. Mayoral nominations are held in October of each year. Elections are held in November. Mayoral candidates represent the following areas: Camp Zama Housing Area, Sagamihara Housing Area, Sagami Depot Housing Area, Single Soldiers, Single Civilians, MLC/IHA, Off-Post Residents and Teens. The activities of mayors may vary in order to fulfill certain unique needs of their community. However, many mayoral functions are the same regardless of the community in which they live.
