A month after the tragedy of the Concordia, the US Embassy wishes to express continued sympathy to the families of victims and the missing.

The U.S. Ambassador David Thorne attended along with President Napolitano to Sunday Mass in memory of the victims of the Costa Concordia. The U.S. Embassy extends sympathy to the families of all victimes and continues to remember the Heil family during this difficult time.

The United States Embassy in Rome sends its condolences to the families of those passengers of the Costa Concordia cruise ship who died in a shipwreck off the coast of Tuscany early this morning.
The welfare of American citizens in Italy is the highest priority of the U.S. Embassy in Rome, and the U.S. Embassy in Rome and the U.S. Consulate in Florence are working with local officials and the families of the passengers to provide assistance to Americans affected by the accident.
The U.S. Embassy has established an emergency response team. Concerned Americans may call +39 06 4674 1 for emergency information.
Based on information provided by local authorities, the US Embassy has revised the number of Americans estimated on board to 120.
As of 5:00 pm local time, there are no reports of serious injuries to American citizens, though we cannot yet account for all Americans believed to have been present on the ship at the time of the accident.
