There are frequent demonstrations in the city. Because of short advance notice from local authorities, information regarding various gatherings is often obsolete before it can even be posted on our website.  Americans are encouraged to stay on the lookout and to avoid large gatherings, as demonstrations often take on an anti-American or anti-Western character.
