Mental health is as significant to an individual's well-being as their physical health. Individuals who are experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD, find the quality of their lives impacted. Recovery

The VA is actively engaged in the Recovery Movement. Recovery recognizes that people with mental illness, can and do improve. Recovery has been defined as "a deeply personal, unique process of changing one’s attitudes, values, feelings, goals, skills and/or roles. It is a way of living a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life." It is a message of hope that one does not have to be defined by or overly limited by a diagnosis of mental illness.  Find out more about the Recovery Movement.
