Unrest in Delmas

The U.S. Embassy continues to receive reports of ongoing demonstrations in the Delmas area and gang activity in Bel-Air. Reports indicate that in the Delmas area, politically motivated demonstrators are moving between Delmas 17 and Delmas 33. Additionally, we have confirmed reports of gang activity in the Bel-Air area to include sporadic gun fire. The affected areas are Delmas 4, Delmas 2, and Rue St. Martin. The Haitian National Police (HNP) is on scene and is attempting to quell the situation. Travel to these areas should be avoided if possible.
