Appointments Required for Routine Consular Services

REMINDER: APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED FOR ROUTINE CONSULAR SERVICES AT THE U.S. CONSULATE IN CASABLANCA

This message is a friendly reminder to U.S. citizens traveling or residing in Morocco that the American Citizen Services section at the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca requires appointments for routine consular services.  This is a follow-up to our message earlier this year announcing the change from open hours to a scheduled appointment system.

The Consulate’s appointment system, implemented in May 2011, reflects a worldwide effort to provide better services through scheduled appointments.  Services can be time-consuming and complicated, and we hope to cut down on waiting time at the Consulate by adequately spacing out appointments.  Our goal is to be able to help customers soon after they arrive.

Appointments can be made through our online appointment system at http://morocco.usembassy.gov/service.html.  No appointment is required for emergency services.

Unfortunately, if you arrive at the Consulate for a routine consular service without an appointment, we will be unable to assist you.  You will be asked to make an appointment and will need to return another day.

Please note that the American Citizen Services section does not discuss visa questions.  If you make an appointment for a consular service with the intention of discussing a visa, we will be unable to assist you and you will be asked to direct your question elsewhere.

For further information, please visit our website at http://morocco.usembassy.gov/ or send an email to acscasablanca@state.gov.  We can also be reached at (212) 522-26-71-51.
