U.S. Treasury Under Secretary David Cohen Visits India

On June 25-26, 2012 the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence David Cohen met with officials across the Indian government and representatives of the Indian financial sector. Under Secretary Cohen discussed with his counterparts ways the U.S. and India can work together to safeguard the U.S., Indian, and international financial sector from abuse by terrorist groups and other illicit actors.

In his meetings with Indian regulators and representatives from the financial sector, Under Secretary Cohen and Indian counterparts discussed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation on sanctions, including on Iran, and ensuring UN-designated terrorist groups are unable to move funds through the global financial sector.
