New Delhi | March 13, 2012

Come indulge your inner foodie and partake of the delectable delights showcased in the United States pavilion at the "AAHAR 2012" food fair in New Delhi, March 12-16, 2012.

Leading U.S. food industry groups such as California Prune Board, Food Export Association of the Midwest USA and Food Export USA North East, Washington Apple Commission, and individual U.S. companies are participating in the U.S. pavilion.  They will display a wide range of food offerings at the American pavilion, including prunes, apples, and many consumer food products from the Southern, Midwest and Northeast states of the United States.

The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Ambassador Peter Burleigh, inaugurated the U.S. pavilion in Hall No. 18, Pragati Maidan on March 13, 2012.  In a goodwill message, he welcomed visitors to the U.S. pavilion, and said “In the United States we love Indian food. India exported more than 3 billion dollars worth of Indian food to the United States in 2011.  At the same time, our exports to India of healthy foods from around the United States grew by 35 percent.  We look forward to seeing this trend continue.”

Allan Mustard, Minister Counselor for Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Embassy said that the U.S. presence at the "AAHAR Show” reflects Indian consumers’ increasing interest for quality food products from the United States.
