Alumni

Who is an Alumnus?

An alumnus is someone who has participated in a U.S. Government funded exchange program.  The U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott administers a variety of exchange programs in Mauritania, including the Fulbright Program, International Visitors Program, American Studies Program, Humphrey Program and the Voluntary Visitors Program.

Alumni, Keep in Touch!

All participants in U.S. Department of State exchange programs are invited to join State Alumni, the global online community by and for alumni.

Launched in April 2001, the State Alumni website enables alumni and the people who hosted them in the United States to network and stay in touch with each other.

By simply registering a user name and password with the site, you can access an alumni listserv, a calendar of events, grant opportunities, career development resources, and links to useful information such as online journals. You can also search the database of State Alumni community members to find colleagues, friends, and alumni with similar interests or participate in monthly live Q&As featuring guest speakers.

This interactive site is tailored to its users, who are encouraged to participate in creating the content.  Alumni can post their own news, events, resumes or links.
