Welcome to New Families

If your children will be riding the school bus, please look at our Transportation page.

Families,
We hope everyone enjoyed their winter recess time! Please see below for important  upcoming dates for the remainder of the school year.  Additionally, as many families are preparing to PCS it is vitally important to communicate with the school on when your student(s) are expected to withdraw. Regulations regarding this process are listed below as outlined in the student handbook.

Please keep in mind if  your student will NOT be in full attendance the last quarter of the school year, the sponsor must request for an accelerated withdrawal and coordinate those requirements with the school and student’s teacher. This ensures the student will receive full credit for the school year.

Re-registration packages are scheduled to be delivered sometime in mid-April to early May for the 2013-2014 school year. Sure Start applications and Kindergarten registration dates are to be determined. Additional information will follow as those dates are determined.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to a successful and exciting 2013.

PCSing Soon? Guidelines on the Withdraw/Transfer of Your Student
Please see the steps below as outlined in our parent handbook, (SEMS Handbook ,page 39), regarding the process for withdrawing your students and requesting records.

Upon student withdrawal or transfer, sponsors are to ensure that the following steps are taken:

  1. Notify the Main Office at least 5 working days in advance.  (Any less will not guarantee that your records will be ready on your child's last day of school and records will have to be requested by the receiving school).

(2) Provide the Main Office with a copy of the orders transferring your child.
(3) Notify the Registrar if your child has confidential records (ex: IEP, Speech, GE, etc.). (Confidential records should be hand-carried and not packed in  your luggage or household goods).
(4) Ensure that library books are returned to the Information Center.
(5) Pay for any lost books and/or school items.

Records will not be ready before 1530 hours on the date that you have given us as his/her last day of school. These records will include copies of the child's official records to take to his or her new school.
