Program Contractors

After the Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Act of 2005, Public Law 109-129, was authorized, The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requested proposals from potential contractors to bid on the four components of the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program and the National Cord Blood Inventory

• The National Marrow Donor Program^® (NMDP) was awarded contracts for three components:
  • Office of Patient Advocacy/Single Point of Access
  • Bone Marrow Coordinating Center
  • Cord Blood Coordinating Center
    
• The Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research^® (CIBMTR) at the Medical College of Wisconsin was awarded the contract for the Stem Cell Therapeutic Outcomes Database component.
  
• Several cord blood banks were awarded contracts for the National Cord Blood Inventory.
