1st Marine Division

Comanche

Comanche Family and Friends,

The holiday season is upon us and I would be remiss not to thank you, in addition to all Comanche Marines and Sailors, for your dedication and steadfast devotion in the post deployment period following our tenure in the Reg-E Khan Neshin District, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  During the past months, your Marines and Sailors have conducted the necessary actions and training following the combat deployment.

It is during this time following a deployment that we refocus our efforts on gearing up and preparing for the tasks and mission ahead.  We must be ready when we receive the call to any climb and place.  This priority of maintaining a high level of readiness will demand the time and attention of your Marine or Sailor.  As we train and prepare for combat, many of the Comanche Marines and Sailors are further preparing for transition to follow on assignments, inside and out of the Corps.  I continue to ask that you and your Marine seek assistance and counsel from the chain of command and the transition readiness seminar for your succession.

In the realignment of personnel throughout the battalion, Comanche welcomed 1stSgt Pruitt to the team, and bid farewell to 1stSgt Parks as he cross decked to Apache.  The company executed sound drill during the change of command ceremony and welcomed our new battalion commander, LtCol Good.

I further would like to emphasize that it continues to be a great and humbling honor to serve the Comanche Marines and Sailors.  I wish you all the best during the holidays and on your future endeavors.

Semper Fidelis.
