This 2009 MMWR article describes the disproportionate number of H1N1 related deaths among American Indian/Alaska Natives. According to an investigation which spanned 12 states, the rate of H1N1 related deaths in AI/AN was 4.0 times higher than death rates for all other racial/ethnic populations.
