The NOAA Diving Training Program

Divers in Dive Center Training Tank

The focus of training at the NOAA Diving Center is on preparing the student to meet the mental and physical challenges that face them as NOAA working divers. All courses include both classroom and "hands-on" training and are aimed at exposing students to a variety of equipment, tasks, situations, and environments typically encountered underwater.

Interagency Training
NOAA has established itself as a leader in diving and safety training. This reputation has led to frequent requests from other governmental agencies to participate in NOAA diver training courses. The NDP tries to accommodate these requests whenever possible based on space availability. With adequate lead time, the NDP can also customize a training program to meet the needs of the requesting agency.
