Colonel Glenn H. Goldman is the Director of Military Instruction (aka “DMI-6”) at the US Military Academy.  He oversees all military science instruction, military training, military skills related extracurricular clubs and West Point’s academic major in Defense & Strategic Studies. He is responsible for leading, training, and sustaining a force of 65 military, civilian and international professionals committed to providing our Army and our nation leaders of character.  DMI’s mission is to educate and inspire the US Corps of Cadets in the essence of war-fighting and the Profession of Arms in order to develop future Army officers, all with the proper values, leadership skills, military skills, character, and warrior ethos to effectively lead America’s Soldiers. He’s been on the West Point faculty since August 2011.
COL Goldman graduated from West Point in 1984 and was commissioned in the Field Artillery.  Throughout his 28+ year career he served in a wide variety of command and staff assignments. His key leadership positions included: leading Recon-Survey and Howitzer Platoons, in 3rd Infantry Division in Germany and command of a light artillery battery in the 82nd Airborne Division, Ft Bragg, NC.  He also successfully commanded 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery at Ft Sill, OK, safely and accurately firing over 120,000 rounds over a two-year period in support of combat field training.  Most recently COL Goldman commanded the 2nd ROTC Brigade, successfully recruiting, training, developing and commissioning over 1400 officers. 
His key staff assignments include serving as an Aide-de-Camp in Germany; Artillery Battalion Executive Officer in Alaska; Fires & Logistics Observer/Controller, then Group Executive Officer, Combat Maneuver Training Center, Germany; and Deputy Chief of Operations, US Forces Korea.  COL Goldman has extensive Fire Support experience at all levels from company to division to include combat operations with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 10th Mountain Division. He also served in the Army’s Personnel Command in Alexandria, VA managing, assigning and providing developmental career support to the Army’s Officer Corps.  
His deployment experience includes: a combat parachute assault in OPN JUST CAUSE, OPN DESERT STORM and OPN IRAQI FREEDOM along with short deployments to Kosovo.
COL Goldman has two Masters Degrees; Public Management & Administration (Troy State Univ) and National Security & Strategic Studies (US College of Naval Warfare). He’s a graduate of the Army Command & General Staff College and the German Army Advanced Tactics Course.  
His awards and decorations include: The Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.  Additionally, he wears the Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge with Combat Service Star, Pathfinder Badge, and Ranger Tab. His foreign awards include the Germany Armed Forces Silver Cross of Honor and the Military Proficiency Badge in Gold. He is also a member the Honorable Order of St. Barbara.
COL Goldman has been happily married for 21 years and has two daughters; a college sophomore and a high school senior.
