General Information

As of September 1, 2011, American citizens requiring passport renewals, additional passport pages, and replacement for lost or stolen passports must schedule an appointment online. Appointments are available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., except for U.S. and Lebanese holidays.  Applicants seeking Consular Reports of Birth Abroad and passports for newborn children must schedule an appointment online.  Appointments are available Wednesdays between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., except for U.S. and Lebanese holidays.   

Applicants who are late for their appointment will be asked to reschedule for another day.
 
Federal benefit services including social security, veterans and civil service retirement are provided by appointment only.   Appointments can be made by email at BeirutACS@state.gov or via phone at 04-543600 (please ask for American Citizen Services).  The section receives phone calls from the public Monday thru Friday between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. 

The Section is open for Social Security, Veterans, Civil Service and Tax Refunds check pick up Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.

American Citizens visiting and residing in Lebanon are urged to read the Travel Warning and Consular Information Sheet for Lebanon, and to enroll at the American Embassy at their earliest convenience." American citizens planning travel to Syria through the Lebanese/ Syrian land borders require a valid entry visa.
