General Information

The Consular Section of the US Consulate in Dubai has transitioned to a new appointment service for applicants applying for a visa to come to the United States. Information regarding different types of visa, applying for a US visa and the requirements to qualify for those visas can be found at http://www.usvisa-info.com/.

To facilitate prompt entrance into the Consulate, please refrain from carrying purses, bags and electronic items. You will not be allowed entry to the Consulate with these items.

US Consulate General Dubai processes non-immigrant visa applications for residents of Dubai, the northern Emirates and Iranian passport holders. Non-immigrant visas are required for travelers who wish to visit, work or study for a temporary period. The type of visa required will depend on the purpose of your travel. Appointments are required for visa interviews. All Iranian passport holders must schedule a visa interview at Consulate General Dubai; however, non-Iranian residents of the U.A.E. may choose to schedule a visa interview appointment at Embassy Abu Dhabi or Consulate General Dubai. Anyone who wishes to enter the United States to reside there permanently must apply for an immigrant visa, whether or not that person plans to seek employment in the United States. All immigrant visa applications are processed at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
