Welcome to the American Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services Unit (ACS) of the Consular Section provides a full-range of passport and citizenship services, birth registrations for U.S. citizen children born abroad, inter-country adoptions,  as well as notarial and authentication services. ACS also provides information and assistance to American citizens in Lesotho.

U.S. Embassy Maseru encourages U.S. citizens to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program <https://travelregistration.state.gov/> (STEP).  By doing so, we can provide important safety and security announcements.  It will also help your friends and family get in touch with you in an emergency.  Please remember to keep all of your information in STEP up-to-date.  It is important during enrollment or updating of information to include your current phone number and current email address where you can be reached in case of an emergency.
