We often receive inquiries requesting verification of offers of employment. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide information about any specific company or to confirm the validity of their job offer.

We encourage you to exercise caution and common sense when receiving any offer from a prospective employer who requires advance payment of any fees, or promises a U.S. work visa in exchange for money. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, H1B workers can never be required to pay processing fees imposed by USCIS. Any foreign national who wishes to work in the U.S. must have a bona fide job offer; an approved work petition filed through the USCIS, and must qualify in all respects for a visa.

We regularly warn people to beware of scams. Scammers intend to get money from their victims by making the victims believe they will gain something of great personal value (financial gain, a romantic relationship, helping someone in trouble, the safe return of a friend, etc). Scammers operate primarily via the Internet, email and phone.
