U.S. Passport Applications

Due to new Social Security requirements, all passport applications are taking 24 hours to clear our computer systems.  All applicants must/must provide their Social Security Number on applications for passports and extra visa pages.

Application for renewal of a U.S. passport must be done in person at the U.S. Embassy. We will need your current passport or the original birth certificate or naturalization certificate as evidence of U.S. citizenship.

U.S. Passport application forms can be downloaded from the Bureau of Consular Affairs website.

U.S. Passport photo requirements:
The photograph must be taken within the last six months;
The size of the photograph must be 2 by 2 inches (5 by 5 cm);
The photograph must be in color and have a plain white background;
Ensure the print is clear and has a continuous tone quality;
The applicant must face the camera, with both ears visible;
No photoshopped or retouched photos can be accepted.

Passport applicants who are U.S. citizen minors under the age of 16 must appear personally with their parents to establish identity, proof of citizenship and proof of relationship. For parental application permission, both parents must appear together and sign, or one parent may appear to sign and submit the other parent’s notarized statement, or one parent may appear, sign, and submit primary evidence of sole authority. Minors age 16 and 17 may apply in person with their own identification, but for security reasons, parental consent may be required. If your child does not have identification of his/her own, a parent will be required to accompany the child and present identification.

Application for replacement of a lost or stolen U.S. passport must be done in person at the U.S. Embassy. You must report the loss to the police and obtain a copy of the police report. In addition to the two passport pictures, you will need to present proof of identity and U.S. citizenship. The proof of identity should include your photo, such as a driver's license. Proof of citizenship would be documents such as your U.S. birth certificate or canceled U.S. passport.

Please note that it takes approximately 10 working days to receive your replacement passport from the United States.
