Passport Information

General Information

American citizens resident in Bermuda should renew their passports at the U.S. Consulate in Hamilton. Please do not mail in your application to a U.S. passport processing center. If you do, the application will be returned and we cannot help you recover fees paid.

American citizens residing or traveling in Bermuda will be issued the latest, state-of-the-art passport incorporating a photo-digitized image and other enhanced security features. Processing of passports is done at the National Passport Center in the United States and may take up to 2-3 weeks. American citizens are encouraged to apply early for renewal of expiring passports

Please note: the consulate does not normally issue emergency passports or same day issuance of passports therefore, please ensure that you have allowed sufficient time prior to your trip to arrange your documents. Also, the consulate does not issue Passport Cards.

For more information please go to: Applying for a U.S. Passport from Outside the United States.

Parking
There is no public parking allowed at the Consulate, this includes motorbikes. Our visitors are allowed to park at the parking lot located to the west of the consulate on Middle Road in Devonshire. Please note, the ACS section is closed on all official Bermuda and U.S. holidays.

Important News
