The Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI)

The Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Legal Attaché (LEGATT) office in Bridgetown, Barbados as part of the FBI's International Operations Division advances the FBI's international mission to defeat criminal and national security threats by building a regional network of trusted partners and strengthening international capabilities.  The LEGATT office in Bridgetown also serves as the FBI representative within the Northern and Eastern Caribbean by sharing knowledge, capabilities, and facilitating joint operational opportunities with law enforcement and security services in 23 countries and territories. 

Legatt Bridgetown has a large area of responsibility including the countries of Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Christopher & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.  Additionally, LEGATT Bridgetown is responsible for the French West Indies (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin), the United Kingdom Overseas Territories of Anguilla, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, and Turks and Caicos Islands; and the Netherlands Special Municipalities of Bonaire, Saba, and Saint Eustatius.

Working with subject matter experts in FBI Offices throughout the United States and other LEGATTs globally, LEGATT Bridgetown facilitates coordination of international activities and training with its regional partners in the areas of terrorism, financial fraud, organized crime, cyber crime, child pornography, money laundering, economic espionage, kidnapping, extortion and the multitude of other matters the FBI investigates.
