13 July 2012: Canadian Muslim Young Ambassador Diaries
On July 4th, seven Canadian Muslim youth traveled to the United States to participate in the Association of Progressive Muslims of Canada (APMC) Young Canadian Muslim Leaders: American Political System program. The program took place in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. These students, selected by the APMC and the U.S. Embassy, were nominated for the program by non-profit organizations and chosen based on their competitive applications. The goal of the program was to introduce the participants to the American political system through first-hand experience with the goal of fostering an exchange of discussions and ideas that they could use upon returning to Canada to better their local communities.
